
Stephen Kurtz is a founding principal and the Chief Operating Officer for Development activities. He helps to identify development sites, leads the selection of the general contractor and architect for each project and oversees the construction activity to assure quality construction and timely completion.
Prior to co-founding LCP Development, LLC., Stephen was the President and founder of Bridgeport Homes Incorporated. Bridgeport Homes was formed in 1992 and was a successful luxury custom homebuilder recognized for innovative architectural design and quality construction. Bridgeport Homes was also active in the processing, development, and sale of residential land parcels. Previously, Stephen worked for the high-rise developer Bramalea USA and was involved in the acquisition and development of high-rise development properties ranging from $100 to $300 million throughout the United States and Canada. The assets were primarily class A office buildings built for and owned by foreign institutional investors in the UK, Holland and Canada. Responsibilities included site selection, market feasibility, pre-leasing, design, and construction feasibility.
Prior to this time Stephen worked as a real estate/land development consultant with the CPA firm of Kenneth Leventhal and Company. Here the primary focus was upon the management of lender workout activity related to the stabilization of individual land assets and repositioning of large REO property portfolios for sale. These assets were located throughout the western unites states and Hawaii.
During the mid 80’s Stephen worked for the Special asset division of First Interstate Bank, FIMSA. During this time he was involved in asset workouts for the bank throughout the western states ranging from raw land to completed office and industrial properties. Before this experience Stephen was a land planner/landscape architect with the local Denver firm of THK Associates. Stephen has lived in Colorado since 1981, and resides in Littleton with his wife and two children.
